An Amazing Historic Moment for Major Art Centers in Detroit!

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MOCAD), Charles H. Wright Museum of African American history are all showcasing solo exhibits featuring black women artists!

The mere coincidence of the exhibitions being shown at the same time is a historic moment for the city. 
The concurrent exhibitions bring a moment of reflection. This milestone making history in 2024 shows that it is long over due and that the art world is making strides in amplifying women of color and their experiences in these spaces!
